MY BOOTY WORKOUT KICKED MY BUTT - PHASE 2
Oh goodness! Good thing they say if you still look cute after you workout than you didn't work hard enough....BECAUSE... That isn't the case here!! I don't believe I had a workout do this type of "sweat damage"!! LOL When I say it kicked my butt, I mean it! YIKES!!
The heaviest weight I used today was one 40 lbs. I used it on the swinging move so only one 40 lb. weight and two 30's for the sumo hinge, squat to hinge, and camels! Man I am telling you what, heavy lifting is right up my alley!! I absolutely love it. It makes me feel strong and plus I burn more calories when I lift than I do cardio!
Sometimes people thing cardio is a great fat burner and it is, but nothing like lifting heavy! Did you know a pound of muscle burns about 10-20 calories a day while a pound of fat burns 5 calories. That means any growth in your muscle tissue is going to help you burn more calories all day long! Hence why I love lifting heavy! Plus more muscle = an increased metabolism! YES PLEASE!!
Instead of lifting easy, lift heavy for a few reps! We did a 3 x 10 today, which was basically 3 rounds at 10 reps per each move. Sound easy? It wasn't when you lift heavy! Not only do you build strength during this time, but it leans out your muscles and the more toned muscle you have, means the more they shine through! Hello biceps and abs!!! I can't wait to get more defined and lean this year. That is my ultimate goal for 2018!
I am not sure if I will do this program again, or another heavy lifting one! Ummm decsions, decisions!
